We are pleased to welcome board-certified optometrist Dr. Caitlynn Estevez to Kentucky Eye Institute (KEI).

An Eastern Kentucky native, Dr. Estevez provides comprehensive eye care with advanced expertise in ocular disease management, diabetic eye care, glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, corneal disease, dry eye management, specialty contact lenses and emergency eye care. She also performs laser procedures, including YAG capsulotomy, selective laser trabeculoplasty and laser peripheral iridotomy, and provides refractive and cataract surgery consultations and post-operative care.

Dr. Estevez earned her Bachelor of Science in biology, graduating cum laude from Union College, where she was also a collegiate softball player. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating cum laude from the Kentucky College of Optometry before completing a residency in ocular disease and primary care with a retina emphasis at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center in affiliation with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, Dr. Estevez has also served as an assistant professor at the Kentucky College of Optometry, where she educated future optometrists and helped lead coursework in glaucoma diagnosis and management, ocular pharmacology and anterior segment disease. She has authored multiple publications and remains active in research and professional education.
