Dr. Caitlynn Estevez is a residency-trained, board-certified optometrist dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive eye care while helping patients achieve and maintain their best possible vision. She believes exceptional care begins by listening to each patient’s concerns, educating them about their eye health, and developing personalized treatment plans that support lifelong visual wellness. With advanced training in ocular disease and primary care optometry, Dr. Estevez combines the latest clinical knowledge with a patient-centered approach to deliver high-quality care.
Originally from Eastern Kentucky, Dr. Estevez earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating cum laude from Union College, where she was also a collegiate softball player. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating cum laude from the Kentucky College of Optometry before completing a residency in ocular disease and primary care with a retina emphasis at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center in affiliation with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
Passionate about advancing the profession and providing the most up-to-date care, Dr. Estevez has dedicated much of her career to educating and mentoring future optometrists through her role as an assistant professor. She remains actively involved in research and has authored multiple publications. She is also committed to serving the Appalachian community through volunteerism, patient advocacy, and expanding access to quality eye care.
Dr. Estevez’s specialties include advanced ocular disease management, diabetic eye care, glaucoma treatment and management, corneal disease, specialty contact lenses, refractive and cataract surgery consultations, and post-operative care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Estevez enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Miller, as well as golfing and traveling.
