Dr. Ellen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiological Optics and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Ohio State University College of Optometry.
After completing his training, Dr. Ellen served as an Optometry officer at the U. S. Army Dispensary, The Pentagon. He then opened a private practice in Toledo Ohio.
Dr. Ellen has been a volunteer in many community activities. He served on the Health Planning Commission of Northwest Ohio and was active in Organized Optometry. He is a past president of the Northwest Ohio Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. He has also been president of the State Board of Optometry in Ohio.
Dr. Ellen is married and has two grown sons. He and his wife Ruth enjoy playing golf, tennis and bridge.
Dr. Ellen moved to Southeastern Kentucky in December of 2000 and provides primary eye care services at Kentucky Eye Institute in Jackson, KY.
